Meet Tika from The Wooed: A Conversation on Intuition, Creativity & Slow Rituals

There are certain women whose work feels like an exhale — soft, intentional, rooted in feeling. The Wooed is one of them.

We connected over our shared love of natural materials, slow craft, and meaningful daily rituals, and it felt only right to invite her into the MIIMU world to celebrate the launch of our raffia bags.Today on the Journal, I’m excited to share our full Q&A — an intimate look into her creative process, inspirations, and the quiet rituals that shape her days.

1.Tell us a little about your business — what was your intention when creating The Wooed?

THE WOOED is rooted in herbalism and the interconnectedness of all things. We create herbal remedies and lifestyle tools for love, liberation and longevity.

When I started THE WOOED I was going through a huge death and rebirth, healing severe burnout and all the symptoms that come with it (hormone imbalances, anxiety, bloating, breakouts), while also going deep into the roots of what led me there in the first place. The more I learnt about myself, the more I saw how commonplace this was, and ultimately how unwell our culture is making us - particularly for women.

Herbalism was the catalyst for me rediscovering who I am and what it means to live in vitality, in love. My intention for THE WOOED has always been to help others rediscover this for themselves, to empower women with the tools and confidence to be their own healers, with Mother Nature as our guide.

On a deeper level, my hope is to help people break free from the illusions that keep us stuck in cycles of suffering and illness. I truly believe the path to healing is through nature. When we are disconnected from the natural world, we are disconnected from ourselves. Healing our relationship with Earth requires and facilitates a deep healing of the self and in turn, with our community. This is the interconnectedness, unity.

2. Where do you find inspiration for your blends and rituals?

I’m fascinated by ancient cultures, I spend a lot of time learning about the medicine and rituals from the ancient world. They were so attuned with nature, energy and spirituality - a lot of my inspirations come through these learnings. For example, our Turmeric and Frankincense Electuary blends together two ancient recipes, one from the Vedic Scriptures and one from Ibn Sina - who was one of the most influential healers, philosophers and astronomers of Persia.

Sometimes it happens through simply observing myself and those around me, tuning into what support we require as a collective.

Other times, an idea will just drop into my head while i'm on my morning bush walk (this happens a lot actually). Then I’ll start noticing all these synchronicities. It always a very synchronistic process, I’ll receive lots of signs and guidance pointing me towards a certain plant or product. I’ve really come to see it as co-creating with nature and often believe the ideas come from the plants around me. I do my best to honour that guidance and inner knowing.

3. What does “living with intention” mean to you?

To me, living with intention means to always follow what brings me joy and true freedom, to live authentically and commit to untangling the knots of karma so I can leave this world better than when I came in. It means, pursing what I know I was put on this Earth to do and trying every day to serve with love.

4. How do you weave slow, mindful moments into your own day?

It’s been a long journey for me unlearning and healing the belief that I have to always be rushing or doing something. One of my favourite ways to instantly drop out of the mind and into the body is body brushing + oiling. I practice this ritual every morning and evening, it’s incredibly nourishing for the nervous system and lymphatic system which are obviously so impacted by stress. Taking these few minutes to check in with myself always sets me up for a calm morning flow and deep rest.

I’m also loving meditation, I try to practice either a guided Joe Dispenza meditation or my own when I wake up and before I go to bed. This has been so helpful for releasing limiting beliefs and transforming my mindset and energy. Once you experience how shifting your energy through meditation shifts your reality almost instantly, it honestly becomes addictive. It’s like a fun (and mindful) game I play with myself haha.

Other than this, my morning bush walks are like my version of church. I love leaving my phone behind and feeling so present and immersed in nature. It’s an instant mood booster and tension melter.

5. A piece of advice for anyone wanting to create something with meaning?

I would encourage anyone to follow what lights them up with joy, more than anything. If money had nothing to do with it, what would you want to spend the rest of your life doing?

When I was starting The Wooed, someone asked me “can you live without it? Because if you can’t live without doing it, that’s the only way you’ll be able to see it through."

Creating something with purpose will test you and continuously reflect all your deepest wounds back to you. It’s incredible rewarding and worth every moment but the one thing that will see you through the challenges is pure passion. So my advice would be to follow that.

I truly believe following our joy and passion is the greatest gift we can give and is the medicine our world is needing right now.

Our collaboration with The Wooed feels like a gentle merging of two worlds — both rooted in nature, craft, and the belief that the objects we carry should enrich our lives.

We hope this conversation brings you a moment of inspiration and invites you to slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect with intention.
